During this Compassionate Communication workshop, you’ll be invited to learn the first steps of how to speak in the language of feelings and needs, what Marshall Rosenberg called “Nonviolent Communication.” This is a language that enables us to connect deeply to ourselves and others, with the potential to transform our relationships and more deeply understand ourselves.
Nonviolent communication (NVC) provides a way of developing our communication skills to help us hear our own deeper needs. It is both a spiritual practice that helps us see our common humanity, using our power in a way that honours everyone’s needs AND a concrete set of skills which help us deepen our connections to others and transform relationships. NVC is used throughout the world for conflict resolution and mediation as well as to enhance personal relationships.
In this session you’ll learn through discussion and activities. Ash and Ginny will support you in practising listening to yourself and others, and in expressing yourself with compassion.
Ginny and Ash are Nonviolent Communication (NVC) facilitators based in Leicester. We run learning groups online and a weekly practice group in person. We look forward to you joining us on this adventure, exploring a way of navigating relationships and life that has been deeply transformational in our own lives
There is an optional 1hr practice session available to practice these new empathic listening skills in pairs- On Sunday 11:30 – 12:30.
