Here on this ancient land of Henlow we will be creating a large ‘Mask of the Earth’ over two 2-hour sessions. You are welcome to join the whole creative process over the two sessions, or drop-in at any stage to participate in the creating and building of this land’s Earth Mask.
The landscape is our canvas and we will offer our thoughts and prayers back to the land whilst creating a large mask using the ancient art of paper mache and home-made corn flour glue. The process involves visioning, foraging, sculpting, moulding, creating, releasing and rejuvenating. All materials used are recycled, environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
This creative space serves as a quiet area for mindful reflection or just listening to nature. This can be enjoyed by everyone; daughters, mothers, grandmothers, aunts and friends. No experience necessary just a willingness to allow your inner creative to focus and express your unique relationship with this land.
Our completed Earth Mask, prayers and wishes, will be offered in gratitude back to the Land at the end of the Festival.
Please feel free to bring a cushion to sit whilst working.
